This is Jacqueline Saburido on September 19, 1999 ..

This is she and her Father, 1998.

Her Birthday party as a child.

At a party with friends.

The car in which Jacqueline traveled. She was hit by another car that was driven by a 17-year old male student on his way home after drinking a couple of hard packs with his friends.
This was in December 1999.

Jacqueline was caught in the burning car and her body was heavily burnt during around 45 seconds.
After the accident Jacqueline has needed over 40 operations.

Without a left eyelid Jacquie needs eye drops to keep her vision.

Now 20 years old, he cannot forgive himself for driving drunk on that night three years ago.

He's aware of devastating Jacqueline Saburidos life.

Not everyone who gets hit with a car dies. This picture was taken 4 years after the accident and the doctors are still working on Jacqueline, whose body was covered with 60% severe burns.

Let's make as many people as we can aware of the consequences of drinking & driving.

600 YSR statues, more to come in Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad:  A year after his helicopter crashed in the Nallamalla hills of Andhra Pradesh, YS Rajasekhara Reddy is everywhere in Andhra Pradesh. Voters loyal to him appear fanatical as they line up to greet his son as he tours the state in a pointed reminder that he is the heir apparent to YSR's political legacy. For those who may need more convincing or a visual metaphor, Jagan Mohan Reddy has, since May, unveiled nearly 600 statues of his father, the former chief minister.
"He is such a great leader who will stay in our hearts forever. He is an ideal for the coming generation and we have to take forward his wishes ahead,'' states Jagan Mohan, who has defied his party's orders repeatedly on his "odarpu yatra." The Congress wanted YSR Junior to end his tour. Instead, he has announced he will still go on the yatra in Prakasam district from September 3.
Jagan Mohan is meant to focus on the families who claim that in the weeks after YSR's death, their own relatives died from shock and grief (there are some 600 who say they were thus affected). But with his appearances turning into frenzied crowd-pullers, the Congress is worried that its own link to YSR will become a footnote in a new chapter of politics being authored by Jagan and his loyalists. So the party has said it will conduct a parallel programme all over Andhra Pradesh.  YSR statues will be included.
With over one lakh rupees spent on each statue, some voters express their dissent.  "The money spent on the statues could have been spent on improving the hygiene of Hyderabad and the rest of Andhra Pradesh,'' said a young man in Hyderabad.
Others say tributes to YSR don't have to be this heavy-handed.
"There is nothing wrong in erecting a statue but there should be some limit to this madness. YSR supporters and loyalists in the Congress can plant saplings and ensure that these saplings become trees. So, therefore, even if you plant one lakh trees or one crore trees, it can be an eco-friendly celebration to remember YS Rajashekara Reddy's legacy,'' offers political analyst K Nageshwar.
One of YSR's statues ironically has been installed at one of Hyderabad's most polluted traffic junctions.

Ill Rosaiah Skips YSR Death Anniversary Functions

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh chief minister K Rosaiah was on Thursday unable to participate in various functions marking the first death anniversary of late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as doctors advised him rest for the second day after he suffered a bout of viral fever.
"Rosaiah has been advised rest. He will be examined in the evening," sources in the chief minister's office said on Thursday.
According to doctors attending on him, the chief minister's temperature was normal but needed rest.
Rosaiah was supposed to fly to Nallakalva in Kurnool district, where Rajasekhara Reddy's chopper crashed on this day last year, to offer homage.
The Nallakalva programme was the main event of the government commemorating the first death anniversary of YSR. A giant memorial is being built there on a 22-acre site.
In a message shown on news channels, Rosaiah regretted his inability to attend the official functions on the death anniversary of YSR.
He recalled his association with the late chief minister and paid tributes to him.
Seventy-eight-year-old Rosaiah missed the official functions attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at Tirupati on Wednesday also due to illness.
A team of doctors examined Rosaiah and also conducted blood, X-ray and urine tests on Wednesday and found everything to be normal.
They also carried out tests for H1N1, dengue and chikungunya, for which results have come out to be negative.

YSR!!! Is Your Soul Resting In Peace??

It is exactly one year ago on this same day when the entire state of Andhra Pradesh fell into hushed silence as the shocking truth dawned upon them. The dynamic leader Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, the then chief minister of the state was killed in a terrible helicopter crash.

Since his death, things have reached the worst situation in the Telugu land and now, it is standing at the brink of splitting itself.

However, one question that has risen in many hearts is whether the soul of YSR is really resting in peace after what has been happening from the past one year. For one, the Telangana bomb got ignited by KCR who was silent like a cat when YS was alive and is roaring like a tiger now.

Before that, it is the plight of YSR’s son Y S Jagan and his one- man fight against the entire congress party which includes the high command in Delhi. While Jagan’s struggle is about an identity lost, the anti –YSR batch have uncovered their hoods and are busy trying to bring Jagan down.

With such turmoil happening, it is a question of truth to understand whether YSR’s soul wherever it may be is resting in peace.

To add to the woes, all those who made their political careers with the support of YS are today taking the side of a spineless government merely for the greed of power. Those who stood in polite silence in front of YSR are now opening their mouths in front of the media criticizing the departed soul.

On one end, the soul of YS may have seen how much the people want him and how much they miss him, on the other hand, it has also seen what happens when the physical presence of a powerful personality is no longer around. It is with solemn prayers that we hope the soul of YSR finds its peace…
